Any serious magician will tell you that the first thing that any novice magician needs to do is to start studying. To this point I haven't stopped studying so it would seem to me that the sooner that a newbie starts reading up on magick the better- there is a lot of reading. But it isn't just the volume of study of the occult that makes a solid discipline, it is the quality of the study and the diligence with which it is applied that will determine the success or failure to acquire the discipline of magick.
